Taiwan :
This is unbelievable, Taiwan orders helicopters batteries and we send them nuclear missile detonators instead. But the best part is it took a year to uncover the error. Ouch!

I think the Afghanistan war and Iraq war have disturbed the officials in pentagon, US. Finding the error after one year was just another blunder they committed after sending the wrong ship to Taiwan. I am waiting to read China's reaction on this matter.

@ ahmad faizal, Is your country next in the line to acquire nuclear weapons? Was it intentional or the result of any secret mission of US against China? I don't think so it was mistakenly sent to Taiwan. US can mistakenly send US troops to anywhere but nuclear materials, find the truth.

It is humorous. I just can't believe US can do it twice back to back in less than one year time. Taiwan won't be ready to face China's anger on this matter. For China, it is unacceptable even it is a mistake. :-)

# Farshid, China has expressed its concern over the 'mistake'. Chinese government has asked the US administration to investigate and report the details of the whole episode to China that created negative effect and severe consequences among Chinese people. China showed serious concern and strong dissatisfaction in the matter.

What happened to US military administration? It was Taiwan which disclosed the matter to the world after realizing the ships have no helicopter batteries it ordered. China has urges US to stop arms sales and joint military exercises with Taiwan to keep Sino-U.S. relations healthy.

US committed a crime because losing a Nuclear component isn't a mistake. It's a crime against humanity. Another question - Why did Taiwan take much time to report it to US? Were they coping th design of nuclear missiles?

Wonderful!!! And the US government sends its troops to Iraq to unconver non existent WMD’s. Now, if only had some Taiwanese guy given away the N-trigger to North Korea, The United States would have promptly gone on to wage a war with North Korea.

Abdulrahman - you have got wrong information- Taiwan reported it fast but it took the US months to respond on the mistake or crime it committed. US had told Taiwan to destroy the missiles not to send it back to US. I think it was intentional and US tried to hide its 'plans' by calling it mistake. Pentagon sent the ships of weapons to use against China in case of clash.

China demanded quick report and investigation and the US said that the initial results of the investigation by April 15 and it would take 60 days for complete report. It is clear yet that the US may have violated international law or international arms agreements with the wrong shipment to Taiwan.

US always does it by mistake, Sending troops in Iraq for searching weapons of mass destruction was a mistake, invading Afghanistan to kill Osama was a mistake and threatening Iran to stop the nuclear enrichment program for peaceful purposes is just another mistake.

A suggestion to buyers all across the globe..beware..don’t trust the company you are asking to send the products, you may get nuclear material, check your parcel on arrival, Even US is sending nuclear missile to Taiwan :):)

The nuclear fuses have become special like a kitchen timer and a battery. Hard to decide which one is important because the fuses set off a nuclear bomb, and are therefore more sophisticated and of greater security importance.

I don’t think the George Bush government can get any worse? They are calling it just a mistake. Is sending nuclear missile to a country like Taiwan a simple mistake? They can nuke any country by mistake in future.

Hey prabhunarayan..thanks for telling world that they might get wrong parcels. When I would wrong parcels, I would throw it away. I just don't care if it is magazines, bills, checks or nuclear missile parts into the trash. After all its not my problem.

Nice one Prabhu, i’ve been ordering a few automatic watches from the US of A and i hope Fedex and the Pentagon don’t muck it up and send me a package load of nuke material. As an afterthough though, at this rate, the taiwanese can become arm dealers {;)

Ohh!!! People here are making unnecessary nuisance over the issue. It was just a mistake. The articles in newspapers and websites sounding like the US shipped something radioactive to Tiawan. Nothing glowy was shipped, only the fuses, nothing intentional.

Taiwan missed a chance, as we all know Taiwan and China are at war with each-other, so they could bargain with US over the nuclear missile shipment. For US, Taiwan is one of the strongest allies and they have already the advanced missile technology as Japan. They might take control over the nuke missiles.

Hey Francis, you just keep your mouth shut, you have no idea about the wrong - nuclear shipping. As I know, nuclear ignition fuses can be very sophisticated because it is an implosion-style weapon. It is like a bunch of detonators arranged in a pattern on the outside of a sphere of high explosive. Who on the earth can say it was not radioactive?

It is absolutely a non-issue. Media is mixing many things to prove something against Bush administration. The US was to send some batteries and due to some confusion, we shipped some fuses instead to Taiwan. They found it wrong and returned it with no problem. Now debate over the matter is just sensationalism by using the word nuclear repeatedly in each of articles.

pure genius
in 1963, or thereabout the USAAF accidentally dropped a 15 megaton bomb on Goldsboro, North Carolina and 5 of the 6 failsafe safety mechanisms failed. By the 1980’s there had been some 80 odd incidents like this around the world.
Trust us - we have shiny shoes, short hair and big guns...
